Golden Star announces appointment of Karim Nasr to board of directors

Golden Star Resources Ltd. (“Golden Star” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce that Karim Nasr has been appointed to the Board of Directors (the “Board”), replacing Naguib Sawiris as a nominee of La Mancha Holding S.à r.l. (“La Mancha”) who stepped down from the Board given the range of other commitments which he has. La Mancha is Golden Star’s largest shareholder, owning approximately 31% of the Company’s issued and outstanding common shares.
